I’m Hamzah Khan. I have spent 15+ years running Linux and cloud infrastructure. I also take on short, one-off work for smaller companies that do not have an infrastructure person of their own.

If your team builds software but nobody owns the servers, this is probably you.

The kind of thing I get called about

  • The person who set all this up has left, and nobody has the full picture — or the credentials.
  • Deploys have stopped working and nobody’s sure what changed.
  • A server or cluster is down and the usual restart hasn’t fixed it.
  • The AWS bill has jumped and nobody can explain why.
  • Certificates expired over a weekend and took the site with them.
  • Backups exist, in theory. Nobody has ever restored one.
  • A migration is half-finished and stuck.
  • Monitoring is installed but nobody trusts what it says.

How it works

Get in touch with a brief description of what’s happening — error messages and logs help, but “I don’t know, it’s just broken” is fine too. A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. I agree on scope and cost before any work starts. No open-ended hourly meter.

I work remotely by default. London on-site is possible where it’s genuinely needed.

If what you need turns out to be bigger than a one-off call-out — ongoing infrastructure work without hiring someone for it — that’s covered on the engagement and pricing page.

What I don’t do

Windows servers, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, laptops, printers, phones, or general office IT. For these areas, a traditional managed IT provider is usually the best fit.

I work on Linux servers, cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP and Azure, and Kubernetes.

Practical questions

How quickly will you reply? Within 24 hours, by email or WhatsApp. Evenings and weekends are possible where it’s genuinely needed — tell me your timeline and I will include it in the scope.

How do you get access to our systems? Through your own password manager, or however you already share credentials internally. I don’t need my own copies.

Do you sign NDAs? Yes. Send me yours.

What happens to access when the work is done? Revoke it. I’ll send you a written list of every account, key and credential I was given, so nothing is left behind by accident.
